Pink Gala scheduled for Oct. 22

pinkinviteCOOKEVILLE – The eighth annual Pink Gala – a fundraising event that supports free mammograms for women – is scheduled for 6-11 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at the Leslie Towne Centre, 1 W. First St., Cookeville.

Funds raised at the black-tie event benefit the Pink Ribbon of Hope Save-a-Life Free Mammogram Program.

The Pink Ribbon program offers free mammogram services to uninsured and underinsured residents of the Upper Cumberland. Nearly 500 residents received free mammogram services through this program last year.

“We rely on donations from strong community partners like Komen Upper Cumberland, and events like the Pink Gala to fund the Pink Ribbon program,” said John Bell, director of the Cookeville Regional Charitable Foundation. “Screenings are able to catch cancer in its early stages, when it can be more easily treated. Yet many women are unable to afford life-saving mammograms through their own means.”

The Pink Gala will feature a four-course meal, silent and live auctions, patient testimonials, dancing and music performed by Nashville band “Shake, Shake, Shake.” The presenting sponsor for the 2016 Pink Gala is Cumberland Imaging Associates. Platinum sponsors include Cherokee Distributing, F&M Bank and CHC Mechanical Contractors.

“This is an evening with great entertainment and it helps women right here in our community,” Bell said. “We welcome everyone to join us for the eighth annual Pink Gala.”

Tickets are $80 per person, $150 per couple or $600 per table of eight. Tickets are pre-sale only; no tickets will be available at the door. To make a donation to the Pink Ribbon Program, or to reserve a seat at the Gala, call the Foundation at (931) 783-2003 or visit www.CookevilleRegionalCharity.org.
