Total collections rose 3.9% compared to January 2025

Tax numbers for January show a year-over-year increase in revenue in Putnam County, according to a release by Putnam County Mayor Randy Porter.

Collections were up 3.9% compared to January 2025. Last year, the first month of the year saw $680,945 while in Jan. 2026 it saw $764,320. That is a 10.9% difference.

Cookeville improved 3% from 4,787,490 to $4,936,918.

“Some of the larger changes may be corrections from previous months,” according to Porter.
