Budget calendar also approved
Cookeville – Tuesday night, Putnam County’s 2023-2024 budget committee was ratified during a meeting of the county commission. Kim Bradford, Chris Cassetty, Chevin Eldridge, Dale Moss, Kathy Reel, Ben Rodgers, Sam Sandlin, Jonathan Williams and Darren Wilson are the newest budget committee members.
Putnam County Mayor Randy Porter chose who would serve on the committee.
“As usual there are always a lot more people wanting to be on the budget committee than there are spaces,” said Porter. “I have to choose as only nine members. Nothing personal on any of it.”
Porter said budget committee meetings aren’t solely for those on the committee.
“Just because you aren’t on budget committee, let me strongly suggest that you come to the meetings and let your voice be heard,” said Porter. “… You are still welcome at these meetings.”
Budget meetings will begin in April when officers will be elected, according to Porter. The commission also unanimously approved the budget calendar for the year.
