Department is dedicated to protecting, promoting and improving the well-being of Putnam County

The Putnam County Health Department in Monterey is celebrating its grand opening Friday, Nov. 14.

The opening marks an “exciting milestone for community health in the region,” according to the Cookeville-Putnam County Chamber of Commerce (Chamber).

“The department is dedicated to protecting, promoting and improving the well-being of Putnam County by providing a variety of essential health services designed to keep people healthy and support recovery when they are sick,” according to the Chamber.

Services include:

  • immunizations
  • WIC
  • Family Planning
  • Primary Care
  • vital records

According to a release, the department accepts most private insurance, TennCare and Medicare, with fees based on family size and income.

“Through prevention programs, education, and partnerships with local organizations, the Putnam County Health Department is committed to making Putnam County the healthiest place to live and work. Join us to celebrate this incredible asset to the community,” according to the Chamber.
