Bigfoot 5K is a part of the Bigfoot Festival which is held annually in the region
The Bigfoot 5K (B5K) recently presented a check to the Patient Support Fund of Cumberland Medical Center. The race, sponsored by the Upper Cumberland Federal Credit Union (The Union), would not have been possible without the union’s generosity.
“We were able to raise $2,000 for them with that 5K,” according to a release by Mark Baldwin (pictured above on left) who is representing the Bigfoot 5K. “This group can help folks who are unable to afford gas to go to cancer treatment, nutritional drinks (e Boost, Ensure) and other needs.”
Baldwin says he appreciates all involved.
“Thank you to all who participated in that 5K (more than 100 folks showed up!) and thank you to for the sponsorship that made the race possible.”
B5K is a part of the Bigfoot Festival which is held annually in the region. B5K became a part of the festival in 2021 with a “desire to have a fun and quirky event to raise money for nonprofits” and has raised nearly $40,000. Money raised also benefits local veterans and first responders.
“Our festival is unlike any other in this region and we are so very proud of what it has become,” said Baldwin in a letter to sponsors.
Last year, the event raised over $20,000 for veterans.
“The Bigfoot Festival offers a fantastic opportunity to get your name in front of thousands of people, while helping our local veterans and first responders. It’s a BIG win for all! If you decide to be a sponsor, I will do my best to make sure you get the very most out of your sponsorship,” said Baldwin in the letter.
