Janney and Associates started in 1992
Smithville – According to reports, long-time Smithville accountant Tom Janney has retired.
In 1989, Janney started his own firm before forming a corporation that would become Janney and Associates, CPAs, PC (Janney), in 1992. The firm served DeKalb County and surrounding areas before celebrating its 30th anniversary in Nov. 2019, according to a release.
The business sold to Gammon & Drueck, CPAs, PLLC in Nov. 2022.
“From the moment my family arrived here, I have felt welcomed and supported,” said Janney in a release. “I’m so grateful that the community took me in from the beginning and all the way through to today. It’s very hard to express my thanks, and I hope that, over the years, I’ve given back in some way to our local community. As an accountant might say – the bottom line: I’m just plain grateful.”
On Jan. 11, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., a celebration of Janney’s career is being held at 297 Broad Street in Smithville. The public is welcome.
