PUTNAM COUNTY – Cookeville resident and retiring pilot Ken Curry was one of approximately 200 employees recently honored by American Airlines.

Curry is celebrating 37 years on the job. Overall, American Airlines recognized employees celebrating at least 45 years of service and 35 or more years for pilots due to the mandatory retirement age.

“We feel great about American’s future because of the work that you have done over the years,” American’s CEO Doug Parker said during a celebratory evening event. “We will continue to honor each of you, by being good stewards of what you have built.”

This year’s honorees began their careers with 11 different heritage carriers including Air Cal, Allegheny, American, Lake Central, Eastern, Mohawk, Ozark, Piedmont, PSA, TWA and USAir.
