Winner will be announced at the Visiting Angels annual conference in June
Cherry Seibers is a “Visiting Angel,” the nation’s leading provider of in-home senior care serving Cookeville, Crossville and Surrounding Areas. She has been a part of that organization for 11 years and was one of the original Visiting Angels in the area.
In that time, she hasn’t missed “a single day,” according to Visiting Angels (VA).
“Cherry isn’t just a caregiver; she’s a blessing,” said Charlotte Suggs-Nabors, franchise owner of Visiting Angels Cookeville, TN. “Her love goes beyond duty. Her grace lifts everyone around her, and her heart is a gift to the world. She’s walked with families through their most difficult moments and turned even their darkest days into comfort and peace.”
Seiber’s dedication paid off when she was recently named Visiting Angels National Caregiver of the Year Finalist.
The Award celebrates the extraordinary contributions of caregivers who provide exceptional care to senior clients and their families, with 10 semi-finalists selected from nominations nationwide, honoring caregivers who “embody Visiting Angels’ caring values, demonstrate professionalism in their work and show a commitment to improving the lives of seniors and their families, according to a release by VA.

Cherry Seibers
“Cherry has been part of our Visiting Angels family for 11 years — and has never missed a single day. She’s cared for one client for eight of those years with unwavering dedication and love. Her client once said, “Without Cherry, my sunshine would be gone. I wouldn’t have made it this long without her.” This recognition has made such an impact on her life, and on all of us who have had the privilege of working beside her,” according to the release.
For over 20 years, Siebers has been a caregiver.
“… Beginning at just 15 years old, when she volunteered at a local nursing home while in high school. Her lifelong commitment to helping others truly embodies the heart of caregiving,” said the VA.
On Nov. 6, VA is celebrating both her achievement and her service and dedication.
“We’re hosting a community celebration on Thursday, November 6, at 10:30 a.m. at our Cookeville office to honor Cherry and highlight the incredible spirit of caregivers who quietly make a difference every day. During the event, we’ll be presenting her with a $5,000 award check in recognition of her exceptional service and dedication,” according to VA.
The VA says Seibers’ story “captures the heart of caregiving, and the powerful ripples one person’s devotion can create across an entire community.” That sounds just about right.
“Cherry is a beacon of hope for Visiting Angels and the clients and families we serve,” said Larry Meigs, CEO of Visiting Angels. “She listens with her heart, brings joy into every room, and her dedication motivates others to do their very best. She exemplifies the Visiting Angels mission, and we are proud to honor her as a semi-finalist.”
The winner will be announced at the Visiting Angels annual conference in June, and the grand prize recipient will receive $10,000. The other two finalists will each receive $5,000.
“She doesn’t just show up for the easy moments; she shows up in the sacred ones,” said Sarah Long, care coordinator at Visiting Angels Cookeville, TN. “Cherry is there on Christmas morning with presents in her hands to bring the warmth of the season, and she’s there to make her client’s favorite breakfast when she arrives for work.”
