Livingston company wins three environment and energy awards

LIVINGSTON – An Upper Cumberland company has received a trio of awards from the Tennessee Chamber of Commerce & Industry for environment and energy efforts.

Livingston’s ABC INOAC Exterior Systems received the Air Quality Award, Solid & Hazardous Waste Management Award and Comprehensive Energy Excellence Award, the chamber announced during its 34th annual Environment & Energy Awards Dinner in October at the Montgomery Bell State Park Conference Center. The event is a unique opportunity to share best practices on environmental stewardship and regulatory practices, officials said.

Recipients were chosen based on their efforts to go beyond compliance to implement “sustainable environmental improvements including the capital investment dedicated to the improvement, reduction of consumption/releases of energy, water, fuel and/or emissions, degree of innovation, long-term environmental benefits and overall significance of the achievement.”

ABC INOAC, manufactures and sell automotive exterior components from its 132 Industrial Park Circle locale. The company is a 50/50 joint venture arrangement between ABC Group Inc. and Japan’s INOAC Corporation. The joint venture also has management and manufacturing facilities in Toronto, Ontario and Fremont, Ohio.

“The Tennessee Chamber is honored to recognize these Tennessee businesses that have demonstrated outstanding achievement toward environmental protection and enhancement as well as proactive and innovative energy policies,” Amy G. Martin, associate vice president of environment and energy for the Tennessee Chamber of Commerce & Industry, said.
