Cookeville – The Leslie Town Centre (LTC) recently awarded the Putnam County School System with $500 from their established Together We Care (TWC) program.

In 2009, LTC established the charitable-giving program TWC to “offset costs associated with their fundraisers.” This effort is funded by proceeds from ticket sales at Mistletoe Market and May Market.

These two events have a collective total of more than 100 local merchants.

“As a public, nonprofit corporation run by the Public Building Authority of the City of Cookeville, we believe it is important to support our fellow nonprofits. We take pride in reinvesting in our community,” said Kathryn Molina, Director of Leslie Town Centre.

PCSS says the donation is appreciated.

“We are grateful to be awarded the $500 from the Together We Care Program and Leslie Town Centre. We are honored to continue the vital work we do together to serve our amazing community. Thank you for this indispensable opportunity to foster the school and community relationship and make Putnam County proud,” said Bubba Winningham, 5-12 Instructional Supervisor of Putnam Co. Schools.

The Putnam County School System (PCSS) is the 13th largest public school district in Tennessee with 22 schools, including a virtual learning school, VITAL and an adult high school, serving over 12,000 students. The school system is the second-largest employer in Putnam County, with over 1,700 staff members.

Co-owned by the City of Cookeville and Putnam County, the Leslie Town Centre is supported solely by the revenues from its two venue spaces, The 7,200 square foot Estes Williams Center and the 1,500 square foot Herald–Citizen Room. The building houses the offices of the Cookeville-Putnam County Chamber of Commerce.
