Numbers were delayed due to the government shutdown

Unemployment in the Upper Cumberland remained relatively unchanged, according to the recently released September numbers. Numbers were delayed due to the government shutdown.

When numbers are released for October – December, these numbers may improve due to hiring during the holidays.

Warren County has a rate of 4.1%, while elsewhere, Cannon County sits at 3.1%.

Cumberland County sits at 4.2% and DeKalb County landed at 4.2%. Fentress stands at 3.8% while Van Buren stands at 3.3%. Jackson County stands is up to 4%, and Macon County’s number sits at 3%.

Overton sits at 3.3% and Putnam stands at 3.7%. Smith landed at 3.3% and White County’s rate is 4.2%. Clay County sits at 4.4% and Pickett County stands at 4.6%.
