There are no labor force estimates for Oct. 2025

Unemployment in the Upper Cumberland remained relatively unchanged, according to the recently released November numbers. Numbers were delayed due to the government shutdown, and there are no labor force estimates for Oct. 2025. Household survey data, the primary input used to produce these estimates, was not collected in October due to a lapse in federal appropriations and was not collected retroactively.

Warren County has a rate of 4.3%, while elsewhere, Cannon County sits at 3.4%.

Cumberland County sits at 4.6% and DeKalb County landed at 4.4%. Fentress stands at 3.9% while Van Buren stands at 3.6%. Jackson County stands is up to 4.3%, and Macon County’s number sits at 3.2%.

Overton sits at 3.5% and Putnam stands at 3.7%. Smith landed at 3.4% and White County’s rate is 4.5%. Clay County sits at 4.5% and Pickett County stands at 5.5%.

The state of Tennessee is still working to determine when labor force estimates for Dec. 2025 and Jan. 2026 will be available.
