COOKEVILLE – The cityscape along South Jefferson Avenue has changed forever as the front portion of the Quality Inn hotel, including the former restaurant and sports bar, was recently demolished to make way for a new five-story Hilton Home2 Suites.

The five-story Hilton Home2 Suites will be an all-suite extended-stay hotel featuring contemporary accommodations and customizable guest room design. Approximately 101 guest rooms are planned.

The newest three-story section of the building will remain open as a Quality Inn and will feature 66 rooms and a pool area. Following the construction, the Quality Inn and the Super 8 motel located on the rear of the property will have street access to both South Jefferson Avenue and Neal Street.

The hotel was originally built in 1984 as a Holiday Inn ‘Holidome,’ the first Cookeville hotel featuring an indoor swimming pool and conference rooms. Many long-time residents will remember the restaurant with its Friday night seafood buffet and Sadie and Dora’s Lounge which featured a rotating selection of musical talent from throughout the eastern US. The Holidome conference rooms were a favored site for many wedding receptions and proms from around the region.

The property is being developed by Krishna Hospitality Partnership, and the franchise agreement has already been secured. The new hotel is anticipated to open around March 2022.
