Shoe company says expansion is a key contributor to sales growth

Cookeville – According to reports, Kirkland’s Home (Kirkland’s), a furniture, home and seasonal décor store in Cookeville, will soon be out of a home. Currently located at 393 West Jackson Street in Jackson Plaza in Cookeville, Kirkland’s will close the doors once the lease runs out at the end of January.

Skechers has reportedly announced they will fill that space and renovate it in February before opening later in Spring.

Skechers has been aggressively expanding its footprint in 2023, opening 72 company-owned stores in the third quarter alone. Many of those are in China and other international markets. The company also opened 324 “third-party” stores.

The company’s worldwide store count is 4,992. The company says international expansion is a contributor to sales growth.

According to zacks.com, Skechers has a target of 10 billion in annual sales by 2026 it is confident it can reach by investing in new American locations like the Cookeville store and expanding in “key markets” like India, China and Chile.

This is an ongoing story. Check back for details.
