Job fair: Workers needed for Trousdale prison project construction

LAFAYETTE – Trade workers, students and others looking for construction work in the Trousdale County area will be able to explore job opportunities at an upcoming job fair Thursday, Sept. 4. The job fair will be held to recruit workers for the construction of a new Corrections Corporation of America (CCA) facility in Lafayette. The project’s construction manager is JE Dunn Construction Company, the 11th largest domestic general building contractor in the U.S.

The job fair will run from noon-4:30 p.m. at the Tennessee College of Applied Technology. Members of JE Dunn’s project management team and subcontractors will be in attendance. Attendees will also have a chance to browse various booths and network with other workers in the area.

JE Dunn is partnering with CCA on the construction of the new facility, a 2,500-bed prison to be constructed in Trousdale County’s PowerCom Industrial Center.

The facility is expected to be completed and ready for inmates by the first quarter of 2016. CCA announced the project will be completed at an estimated total cost of $140 million.
