Highland Rim Home Health relocates UC office

Highland Rim logoCOOKEVILLE – A home care agency that serves patients in the Upper Cumberland region has relocated.

Highland Rim Home Health, a department of Cookeville Regional Medical Center, has moved from 337 N. Cedar Ave. to its new home at 2370 Quinland Lake Road, Suite 150, near Highway 111.

Serving patients in 14 counties, Highland Rim is a full-service home care agency, offering at-home patients skilled nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, medical social services, private duty nursing care and personal care.

“We had simply outgrown our office space by the hospital,” Dana Durm, RN, Highland Rim director, said in a release. “This location near Highway 111 is ideal for our staff since they are continually traveling around the region seeing patients.”

The home health agency was established in 1978 and purchased by CRMC in 1988 as a means to expand services.

“Home health has many benefits for patients as well as their families,” Durm said. “Whether the patient is chronically ill, recovering from surgery or living with a disability, home care often allows the patient to receive services to meet their individuals needs right there at home. It is especially beneficial for those who are chronically ill or living with a disability since it may make a difference in them staying in their own home or having to move to a long-term care facility.”

Highland Rim provides a trained, interdisciplinary team of nurses, therapists, technicians and nursing support staff to meet the comprehensive needs of homebound patients. A registered nurse is on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week to respond to patient needs and questions.
