Habitat ReStore to move to new location

COOKEVILLE – After 20 years on East 15th St, Habitat ReStore (UCHFH) will be moving to a new location later this fall. UCHFH recently reached an agreement and will be the neighbor to Big RK, 560 S. Jefferson Ave., adding a climate controlled 16,300 square-foot facility for sales and donation processing, along with an easy donation drop-off drive thru.

“This move is going to make an impact that many won’t be able to imagine,” says Pam Ealey, UCHFH Executive Director. “Between the added exposure to individuals who have never shopped or donated to us along with a better volunteer work environment, UCHFH will be able to serve more members through our Home Ownership program and our Seniors Aging in Place program. The increased ability to serve more will be seen for years”.

The ReStore team is working on Tenant Improvement plans. Individuals and local builders and suppliers are invited to consider becoming a Building Partner for the work ahead.

“Keeping our Tenant Improvement costs down will help us quickly generate a larger net profit,” said Ben Johnson, ReStore Manager.

The UCHFH ReStore is coming off a record-breaking year, but UCHFH wants to encourage sub-contractors and suppliers of lumber, doors, wallboard, cabinet, countertops and sinks to participate in serving as a Building Partner. It’s still early in the process, but the staff hope to move by November. Local businesses are also always encouraged to donate excess inventory for the ReStore to sell.

Anyone interested in learning more about the needs for this move are encouraged to call Ealey at 931-319-4630 or Johnson at 931-528-1709.
