UPPER CUMBERLAND – For Upper Cumberland residents looking for the area’s best restaurants, retail stores, service providers and more, look no further. That list? The Upper Cumberland Business Journal’s version of the best-of-the-best: the Ovation Awards.
The seventh annual Ovation Awards feature 33 winners, 18 that are first-time recipients, in categories designed to honor individuals and others in tourism, retail, professional service, restaurant and manufacturing-related sectors.
“Ovation Awards are my favorite time of year,” said UCBJ Editor Liz Engel Clark. “The Upper Cumberland has a lot of nooks and crannies, and these awards give us a chance to cover a lot of ground and highlight both well- and lesser-known companies and individuals. Our categories are so unique, which means our winners are, too. We appreciate all the readers who took time to nominate their favorites this year. It’s a great list.”
The 2014 list spans seven unranked categories specifically:

• Excellence in Professional Services
• Excellence in Tourism Promotion
• Best Individual Citizen/Excellence in Leadership
Ovation Awards were founded in 2008. Winners are nominated by readers and selected by the UCBJ editorial staff.
