CAAHEP Reaffirms Program Through 2036 After On-Site Review
(UCBJ) – Fortis College in Cookeville has earned continued accreditation for its Surgical Technology program from the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs, extending the program’s status through July 2036 following a May 2025 on-site review.
“Continued accreditation reflects the dedication of our faculty, staff and clinical partners to providing students with an exceptional educational experience,” said Fortis College in Cookeville President James Williamson. “We’re proud to offer a program that equips future surgical technologists with the knowledge, technical skills and hands-on training needed to succeed in today’s healthcare environment. This achievement reinforces our commitment to preparing graduates who are ready to make an immediate impact in operating rooms across Tennessee and beyond.”

The program has graduated more than 219 surgical technologists since launching in 2002.
