COOKEVILLE – F&M Bank celebrated its new Cookeville location with a grand opening Thursday, Jan. 22.
The bank, which originally opened in Putnam County in 2009, has moved to 900 N. Washington Ave., the former Citizens Bank. F&M celebrated with a holiday open house back in December.
F&M’s previous address, 541 S. Willow Ave., Suite 104, in the Merchant Court facility alongside Cici’s Pizza, was always meant to be a temporary location, officials said. The new North Washington Avenue setup will allow the bank to expand its mortgage operation as well grow its deposits. As of June 2014, F&M had $29,128,000 in deposits in Putnam County, according to FDIC data, a growth of nearly 10 percent from 2013’s $26,492,000 and up 42 percent from 2012’s total of $20,466,000.
