COOKEVILLE – Ficosa, an automotive supplier and the first committed tenant to the Highlands Business Park in Cookeville, is holding a hiring event for its Putnam County operation next week.
Manpower, a staffing and employment agency, is heading the hiring search, which will be held from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Cookeville Career Center, 580 S. Jefferson Ave. Original timelines put Ficosa in limited production in mid-2016.
Ficosa is a Spanish multinational corporation involved in the research, development and production of systems and parts for the automotive industry. The company announced its plans for a new Cookeville plant – a planned 270,000-square-foot, $58 million facility in May.
Ficosa’s existing Tennessee plant in Crossville produces mirror assemblies for Nissan, Ford, Volkswagen, Fiat Chrysler, General Motors and other auto manufacturers. The company will transfer all operations to the Cookeville facility, which will increase production capacity and allow components currently made in China and Mexico to be made in Tennessee.
More than 550 positions will be added.
