“Rodney Boyd has been a trusted steward of our mission and a tireless advocate for patients.”

Rodney Boyd has retired from the Ascension Saint Thomas River Park Community Advisory Board and the Ascension Saint Thomas Regional Hospitals Board of Directors.

Boyd has held the position for 15 years.

“Boyd served as chairman of the Community Advisory Board and held board leadership roles during a period of significant change in health care, including the COVID-19 pandemic, facility expansions, and advancements in medical services and technology,” according to the hospital.

Saint Thomas River Park is a 125-bed hospital and the largest of Saint Thomas’ regional hospitals.

“With nearly 400 associates and a medical staff representing 26 specialties, the hospital continues to enhance its services and facilities to meet community needs,” according to the release.

In a time of turmoil in health care, Boyd helped to guide major hospital improvements and renovations and:

  • Supported expanded surgical capabilities and medical technologies
  • championed forward-thinking initiative (including the installation of electric vehicle charging stations on hospital grounds)

“Rodney Boyd has been a trusted steward of our mission and a tireless advocate for patients, caregivers and the community,” said Eric Paul, president of Saint Thomas River Park Hospital. “I am deeply grateful for his leadership and lasting contributions to our hospital and our community.”

In his time, even the city of McMinnville has recognized his importance to both the community and the health care field.

“In a proclamation, city leaders commended his 15 years of dedicated board service, citing his instrumental role in hospital improvements, commitment to innovation and sustainability, and broader involvement in local civic organizations,” according to the release.

Construction is underway on an expanded emergency department for the hospital, planned to open in spring 2026.
