Rezoning will transform property from residential to commercial property

On Thursday, Dec. 5 the Cookeville City council will hear a first reading of an ordinance that looks to rezone the 16.49 Acres of propert at 3429 Lee Seminary Road. The rezoning will transform the property from single family residential to Commercial Mixed use.

The Planning Commission first studied the proposal at a September special called meeting.

Monday the City Council held a work session to discuss the property’s connection to the Highlands Business Park and how the rezoning would allow for easier future development of the park.

The land was acquired by the City and Putnam County in Aug. 2022, according to reports.

Notice reads as follows:

Hold a public hearing and consider on first reading Ordinance #O24- 11-25, rezoning property located at 3429 Lee Seminary Road (Tax Map 064, Parcel 071.00) from RS-20 (Single-Family Residential) to CI (Commercial-Industrial Mixed-Use). SPONSOR – JON WARD
