Putnam County commission to hear recommendation of approval

Cookeville – On April 17, the Putnam County Commission (the Commission) will hear and vote on a recommendation of approval of a purchase option with E2L Real Estate Solutions, LLC (E2L) on the old fairgrounds property in Cookeville. The property has been up for private sale since 2021 when the Commission first declared the property as surplus.

Putnam County Mayor Randy Porter told the Upper Cumberland Business Journal the recommendation is something he supports, and he believes it will pass in Commission.

“E2L have done a bunch of developments over the years across the southeast,” said Porter. “It is great to see all the interest in the property the past few months. It’s a prime piece of property that could bring some very good things to Putnam County.”

E2L is located in Winter Park Florida and is co-owned by Mark and Kelley Hefferin. Call them at 407-636-7919 or visit e2lrealestatesolutions.com. E2L did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

In March 2021, the Commission declared the fairgrounds surplus property and authorized Porter to pursue private sale to the best offer. The property was then put up for private sale. Since then, “big retail” companies and real estate companies have shown interest, but no deals have closed.

The county commission meeting will be held at the Putnam County Courthouse at 421 East Spring Street and is open to the public.
