“Double Day” will have twice the impact for struggling patients

CookevilleEveryone living in the Upper Cumberland is being challenged to give $10 or more on Tuesday, Nov. 13, to any patient assistance fund, or charitable program of the Cookeville Regional Charitable Foundation. All gifts made on Nov. 13 will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to a total of $15,000.

One hundred percent of donated funds go toward local charitable programs and health services that benefit residents of the Upper Cumberland. No portion of a gift will be used for overhead or staff expenses.

Established patient assistance funds include: Cancer Fund, Heart Fund, Pediatric Fund, Hospice Fund, Mental Health Fund, Diabetes Fund and general patient assistance fund named Caring Hands.

Established programs include: Angel Garden, Art for Healing, Carmen’s Fund-CPR Education, Community Health, Epipen Program, Music for Healing, Pink Ribbon of Hope-Free Mammogram Program, Pet Therapy and others.

The Cookeville Regional Charitable Foundation helps roughly 2,000 patients each year, who live in all corners of the Upper Cumberland. The Foundation frequently assists low-income and under-insured patients with things like medication, transportation, specialty equipment, groceries, health-services, utilities and other critical needs.

“This year we are especially encouraging those who have never made a gift to the Foundation to please make a first-time gift of $10. Just $10 can have a huge impact by helping us provide medicine or transportation to a struggling local patient right here in our community. Gifts made on Nov. 13 will have double the impact, thanks to this one-day matching opportunity. A $10 gift becomes $20, $30 becomes $60 and so on. It’s a wonderful way to stretch donated dollars and make an even bigger difference,” said John Bell, foundation director.

Qualifying gifts for Double Day may be made on Nov. 13 by calling 931-783-2003, online at www.CookevilleRegionalCharity.org or by mailing a check dated Nov. 13 to: CRMC Foundation, 1 Medical Center Blvd, Cookeville, TN 38501.
