COOKEVILLE – This December, the Relative Caregiver Program (RCP), in partnership with the Upper Cumberland Area Agency on Aging and Disability and Quality of Families, is holding a donation drive of household basics to benefit relative caregiver families in the Upper Cumberland region.

Organizers are asking for donations of toiletries, laundry detergent, dishwashing detergent, paper towels and other household products. Donations can be dropped off at the Upper Cumberland Development District/RCP office at 1225 South Willow Ave. in Cookeville throughout the month of December.

All items collected in the donation drive will be given to caregiver families in the Upper Cumberland Relative Caregiver Program. Some of the donated items will be combined with Christmas gifts for RCP children and families provided by the Department of Children’s Services as well as essential personal care items donated by the Family Caregiver Program through the Area Agency on Aging and Disability (AAAD) in partnership with Quality of Families.

Funded by the Department of Children’s Services, the Upper Cumberland Relative Caregiver Program offers support services and resources to relatives raising relative children whose biological parents are no longer able to do so. The RCP provides monthly support groups, enrichment activities, trainings, resources and support for participant families.
