CUMBERLAND COUNTY – Knoxville-based Dominion Senior Living is planning a new assisted living community in Crossville.

The company announced last week it will begin construction on Dominion Senior Living of Crossville, a 25,000 square foot, $5.25 million assisted living and memory care community that will provide care for 60 residents. The one-story facility will be located at 887 Woodlawn Road in Crossville and will be the only senior living community in the city specially designed for seniors with memory impairment.

The community, which Dominion expects will also open in the first quarter of 2016.

“We look forward to bringing our personalized, expert memory care services to the area, and we know that we’ll have a positive impact on the lives of many seniors and their families,” Mark Taylor, president of Dominion Senior Living, said in a release. “Every detail, activity and amenity in the community will be chosen to create a safe, friendly and peaceful environment where relationships can be built among residents and staff. Our goal is to make each day meaningful by enriching the lives of our residents and their families, offering a true sense of purpose and understanding.”

Dominion said the facility will create 50 new jobs. The company is also planning a similar senior living facility in Bristol. It will also open in 2016.

UPDATE: Officials told the UCBJ that site work at the construction site has already begun. Dominion closed on the property in the last 10 days. For more information on the project, call (865) 317-2262.
