Sparta location will be the 76th franchised restaurant in Tennessee

Sparta – Dairy Queen (DQ), the fast-food giant and home of the greatest dessert in history, the Blizzard, is setting roots in Sparta, according to Sparta Mayor Jerry Lowery.

DQ operates over 7,00 restaurants worldwide and has a location in 20 countries. DQ is celebrating 80 years in business this year. The Sparta location will be the 76th franchised restaurant in Tennessee. No word yet on when construction will begin or where the restaurant will be located.

Fast food – DQ is expanding to Sparta.

DQ says the vision is to be the world’s favorite quick-serve restaurant and to “create positive memories for all who touch DQ.”

“We collaborate with and are accountable to each other, our company and communities,” according to the fast-food giant. “We strive for continuous improvement, making decisions to influence and advance change and develop better solutions.”

Franchising is important to the company’s expansion plan and vision.

“The secret to the DQ brand’s success has always been simple,” according to the company’s website. “Our recipe combines hardworking individuals and great-tasting food that’s served in a welcoming environment.”

International Dairy Queen Inc. (IDQ), based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, is the parent company of American Dairy Queen Corporation (ADQ) and Dairy Queen Canada, Inc. IDQ is a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway, Inc. (Berkshire), which is led by Warren Buffet, the investor and CEO of Berkshire.
