COOKEVILLE – The Cumberland Quintet, Tennessee Tech University’s woodwind ensemble, will present a concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 28.
The group’s members are music professors Roger Martin, flute; William Woodworth, oboe; Wonkak Kim, clarinet; James Lotz, bassoon and Jeremy Hansen, horn.
The concert will include group wind pieces from different eras, including a concerto by J.S. Bach, shorter compositions by György Ligeti and Jean Berger, and a work composed by retired TTU professor Robert Jager.
Established in 1972, the Cumberland Quintet has built a reputation for fine musicianship. The group has toured throughout the United States and in Europe, performing to a wide variety of audiences. They have performed on live radio and television broadcasts, and have been part of an educational public television series seen across the country.
The concert will be in Wattenbarger Auditorium in TTU’s Bryan Fine Arts Building, 1150 N. Dixie Ave. It is free and open to the public.
