Chamber is dedicated to fostering economic growth, supporting local businesses
PJ Barnes has been named Director of Tourism by the Crossville-Cumberland County Chamber of Commerce (Chamber).
“In this newly created and dedicated role, Barnes will lead efforts to promote Crossville and Cumberland County as a premier travel destination, enhancing visitor experiences and driving economic growth through tourism,” according to a release by the Chamber.
Barnes will focus on marketing initiatives, partnerships and visitor experiences to highlight the area’s rich history, outdoor recreation, arts scene and renowned golf courses. The Chamber says he aims to build upon the Chamber’s efforts in expanding tourism reach and creating new opportunities for local businesses.
“Tourism drives people to Tennessee and is a vital component of our local economy,” says Ethan Hadley, president/CEO of the Chamber. “At present, with over $210 million in annual direct tourist expenditures, Crossville-Cumberland County already punches above its weight. With PJ’s capabilities and focus 100% on tourism, we expect to grow our share significantly.”
The Chamber says Barnes has experience.
“As a native of Cumberland County, born in Crossville and raised in Crab Orchard, Barnes has had a lifelong education in all that makes our community attractive to visitors. Barnes also brings relevant experience to this position. Before joining the Chamber, he served as a Team Lead at the Tennessee Small Business Development Center, where he played a key role in supporting business growth, notably in marketing, branding, website design and sales, across the Upper Cumberland region,” according to the Chamber.
The Chamber says it is dedicated to “fostering economic growth, supporting local businesses, and enhancing the quality of life in the region.”
“Through business advocacy, economic development and tourism promotion, the Chamber works to create a thriving environment for both residents and visitors,” according to the Chamber.
