COOKEVILLE – The names Noah and Briley reigned supreme in 2016, according to the region’s largest health care provider.
Cookeville Regional Medical Center this week released its top list of baby names. Briley took the top spot for girls, followed by Ella and Emma, while Noah ranked highest for boys, ahead of Wyatt and Isaac.
Last year, the most popular names for boys were William, Colton and Justin. The most popular names for girls were Elizabeth, Kinley and Allie.
Overall, the hospital saw 1,539 births last year – 755 boys and 784 girls. That’s down roughly 4.0 percent from 2014 and 2015, respectively, when 1,603 and 1,610 babies were born.
