Renovation which began construction July 5 2023, added a six-unit inpatient dialysis center

Cookeville Regional Medical Center (CRMC) is holding a ribbon cutting on the newly renovated 5 West Floor Thursday Dec. 12. Patients will be welcomed Monday Dec. 16.

The CRMC board of trustees approved renovation on two floors of the facility. Both 4 West and 5 West will see significant changes. The renovation which began construction July 5 2023, added a six-unit inpatient dialysis center and 20 new inpatient beds to the medical center. Hemodialysis is the process of filtering wastes, salts and fluid from your blood when your kidneys are no longer healthy enough to do so.

“The local economic impact of this project is estimated between $8 million and $10 million,” according to a release by CRMC, “with at least 50% of subcontractors being local companies.”

Once expansion on 5 is complete, work will begin on renovating and updating patients’ rooms on 4 West.

Ribbon cutting is not open to the public.
