The expansion will cost $16.4 million

Cookeville – Cookeville Regional Medical Center (CRMC) is adding 40 additional beds, including a six-unit dialysis center, to the fourth and fifth floors over the next two years bringing their bed capacity to 309 by 2025.

Construction is set to begin this Wednesday July 5 starting with the fifth-floor renovation in year one and moving to the fourth floor in year two. The expansion will cost $16.4 million.

“We are thrilled to be able to start our new 4 West and 5 West expansion to better meet the needs of patients in our community. We have not had a bed expansion in over a decade,” said Buffy Key, interim CEO at CRMC. “This project is expected to last two years and construction begins first of July. Cookeville Regional has an excellent construction and project management team that will work to make sure that patient care is not disrupted. However, patients and visitors may see additional foot traffic in our medical center and hear some additional noise.  Our promise is to keep providing excellent, high-quality care for our patients and their families during this exciting time of expansion, and we appreciate our community’s patience.”

Parking areas and entrances will remain open as usual for the public.
