COOKEVILLE – The Cookeville-Putnam County Chamber of Commerce, Putnam County & the city of Cookeville join together in their excitement to announce the theme of the 53rd Cookeville-Putnam County Christmas Parade will be ‘Christmas Movie Memories.’
“I’m honored to be the chairman of the Cookeville-Putnam County Christmas Parade again this year,” said Putnam County Mayor Randy Porter. “Our parade continues to grow and be a great night of fun and excitement for our community. Our committee chose the theme ‘Christmas Movie Memories’ this year. With all of us having a favorite Christmas movie, the possibilities on themes for floats and entries for the parade is nearly endless. We look forward to a great night, as our community comes together to celebrate this wonderful holiday season.”
As announced earlier, the parade is scheduled for 6 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 14. A rain date is scheduled for the following Monday, Dec. 16 at 6:30 p.m. The parade route will begin at Washington Avenue and Sixth Street before turning right at Washington Avenue and Broad Street and ending at the Cookeville Depot Museum.
“Some of my fondest memories of past holiday seasons is gathering around the living room with my family and watching our favorite Christmas movies together,” said Cookeville-Putnam County Chamber President/CEO George Halford. “I can’t wait to see what the citizens of Putnam County have up their sleeves for this year’s parade. I already can tell it is going to be one of my favorites!”
Entry forms for those who wish to participate in this year’s parade will be available Friday, Oct. 11. The digital version will be available on the chamber’s website & social media, and hard copies can be obtained at the chamber.
