Cookeville gives public notice of public hearings on budget, streets

COOKEVILLE – The Cookeville City Council will meet in the Council Chambers of the Cookeville Municipal Building, 45 East Broad Street, at 5:30 p.m., on the following date(s) to consider the following agenda item(s):

  1. PUBLIC HEARING – To set the certified tax rate

The Cookeville City Council will conduct a public hearing on Thursday, June 3, 2021 (first reading) and Thursday, June 17, 2021 (second reading) at 5:30 p.m., on the city’s intent to exceed the certified tax rate as defined by T.C.A 67-5-1701.  It is the city’s intent to exceed the certified tax rate by rounding the certified tax rate up to the nearest whole cent.  This public hearing will be held in the Council Chambers of the Cookeville Municipal Building.  

2. PUBLIC HEARING – Ordinance #O21-06-10 

June 3, 2021 – Hold a public hearing and consider on first reading Ordinance #O21-06-10, providing a tax levy for the 2021-2022 fiscal year.

3. PUBLIC HEARING – Ordinance #O21-06-11 

June 3, 2021 – Hold a public hearing and consider on first reading Ordinance #O21-06-11, authorizing appropriations for financial aid to public service, nonprofit, and charitable organizations for the 2021-2022 fiscal year.

5. PUBLIC HEARING – Ordinance #O21-06-13

June 3, 2021 – Hold a public hearing and consider on first reading Ordinance #O21-06-13, adopting the annual budget for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2021 and ending June 30, 2022 for Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

6. PUBLIC HEARING – Ordinance #O21-06-09

June 17, 2021 – Hold a public hearing and consider on first reading Ordinance #O21-06-09, amending the Municipal Code of the City of Cookeville, as adopted by Ordinance No. O02-12-33, and as since amended, to revise in Title 16, entitled “Streets and Sidewalks, Etc.”, Chapter 6, entitled “Miscellaneous Regulations for Streets and Public Ways”, provisions related to littering in streets, alleys or sidewalks and obstruction of drainage ditches and stormwater structures.
