Cookeville Chamber to host Algood, Baxter, Monterey candidate events

COOKEVILLE – The Cookeville-Putnam County Chamber of Commerce will host three municipal candidate events in Algood, Baxter and Monterey throughout the month of July to allow voters to meet their potential elected officials.

“After a very successful City of Cookeville Forum, we are thrilled to host these events and provide opportunities for voters to meet and speak with their potential local government leaders,” says Chamber President and CEO Amy New.

The Algood Coffee with the Candidates will take place on Thursday, July 14 at 8:00 a.m. at Algood City Hall.

The Baxter Coffee with the Candidates will take place on Wednesday, July 20 at 8:00 a.m. at The Monarch.

The Monterey Coffee with the Candidates will take place on Wednesday, July 27 at 8:00 a.m. at One Bank of Tennessee.

Chamber Director of Membership Karlyn Reel commented, “An informed voter is a confident voter, and we are thrilled to play a small role in preparing community members to cast their vote in August.”

These events will bring both candidates and constituents to a centralized municipal location for both a meet-and-greet and program wherein candidates will introduce themselves and speak on their views for the future of their community.

If you have any questions concerning the events, contact Karlyn Reel at kreel@cookevillechamber.com or call (931) 526-2211.
