24/7 on-water assistance company helps boaters get safely home
Monticello, Ky – Mike Brown and Jared Smith are the new owners of TowBoatUS Lake Cumberland and TowBoatUS Dale Hollow Lake, an on-water boat towing and assistance service that helps boaters get home after a breakdown. The two plan to open a third locally owned port if “things go as planned.”
The ports are part of the largest nationwide towing fleet with more than 600 red TowBoatUS response vessels.
“We kept talking about it and how it would be a great opportunity for both of us,” said Smith. “I kept pulling the numbers until it worked. We’re very excited. It’s our first full-time joint business venture. We’re ready to help when you need us, 24/7.”
Assistance – If you need a tow on the lake TowUSA is there to help.
The company provides professional routine on-water assistance including towing, battery jump, fuel drop-off and soft ungrounding services. Much like an auto club for recreational boat owners, the Boat Owners Association of The United States (BoatUS) offers on-water Unlimited Towing Memberships for all freshwater boaters including houseboat owners. There is also an Unlimited Gold Membership that covers 100% dock-to-ramp and dock-to-mooring tows.
Included with both are more than 25 Boat Owners Association of The United States (BoatUS) benefits and discounts, a subscription to BoatUS Magazine, free DSC-VHF radio registration and more.
TowBoatUS Lake Cumberland homeports a 22-foot red response vessel, fully rigged for towing and salvage, at Conley Bottom Marina. Brown and Smith plan to add a second location at Lake Cumberland Marina later this year.
On Dale Hollow Lake, a 24-foot red TowBoatUS response vessel is at Mitchell Creek Marina. Separate from BoatUS Towing Services, the company provides boat salvage and environmental remediation services.
“We’ll also soon offer HydroHoist installation, maintenance and repair,” adds Smith.
Experience and dedication bode well for Brown and Smith’s success.
The fastest way to request assistance is to download the free BoatUS App, which connects boaters to the closest local towing captain. Both TowBoatUS locations can be reached at 606-939-1636 or by phoning the BoatUS toll-free 24/7 Dispatch Center at 800-391-4869.
