PUTNAM COUNTY – The Putnam County Clean Commission is seeking individuals and groups to participate in the annual #PutnamProud County Wide Clean Up taking place Saturday, Sept. 19 through Saturday, Sept. 26.

This is an opportunity to come together and make a positive impact in the community and to help Keep Putnam County Beautiful.

Last year, over 30 volunteer groups participated completing over 800 hours of volunteer service. The Clean Commission is hoping to have even more groups involved this year.

Special efforts are being made to recruit groups and organizations in the Baxter/Monterey/Algood areas to ensure all of Putnam County gets service during this event.

Individuals, groups, organizations or businesses can choose to do a clean-up of an area in their community (such as neighborhoods, wooded areas, fields surrounding their area of business, meeting location, church, etc.) or work with the Clean Commission on other clean-up areas. Materials such as gloves, trash bags and litter grabbers will be provided.

If you, your family, group or organization would like to get involved in this program, please contact the Clean Commission via Facebook Messenger, email at cleancommission@gmail.com or call/text Rob Wright, executive coordinator at 931-537-3278

The Clean Commission is also looking for businesses to help sponsor teams for this event through donations. Additional information and resources can be found on its webpage: https://www.cleancommission.com/putnamproud-county-wide-cleanup.
