Station will feature rock, blues, bluegrass and more

Smithville – The summer breezes, music floating through the air and wind blowing through your hair.

If all of these things bring to mind a day at the lake, then you probably live, have lived or wanted to live what they call “lake life” down in DeKalb County. It’s a vibe and, for many, a way of life.

“The Lake” is looking to spread that vibe everywhere there is an internet connection.

“We’re an independent online radio station streaming from Center Hill Lake in Smithville,” said “The Lake” in a statement on Facebook. “We offer an eclectic collection of music, with a little bit of everything …”

The station will feature rock, blues, bluegrass, americana, oldies, pop, jazz, country, new grass and more.

“So whether you’re truly at “The Lake” or longing to be with us, just turn on Center Hill Radio,” continued the post.

Center Hill Lake features Edgar Evins State Park, the Joe L. Evins Appalachian Center for Crafts as well as Burgess Falls State Natural Area, Rock Island State Park and many marinas including Pates Ford which hosts the TNT Motorsports Wakefest wakeboarding competition every year.

“Center Hill Lake plays a big part in our small town,” says “The Lake”. “Whether you’re into fishing, water sports or simply basking in the sun, CHL is a 64-mile-long reservoir with 415 miles of mostly undeveloped shoreline. It’s perfect for whatever you want to get into, or away from.”

Download the app on the app store or Google play or visit centerhillradio.com to stream, and that “lake life” they talk about is now only a click away.
