CCHS stadium getting ‘much needed’ facelift

CROSSVILLE – Cumberland County High School’s football stadium is getting some much-needed repairs and renovations, thanks to Cookeville-based J. Cumby Construction.

The work includes demolition of several walls and replacing ramps with Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant ramps, handrails and guardrails. Additionally, the contractor will provide structural repairs, pressure wash the entire seating area, and replace portions of the steps and walkway at the northwest end of the stadium.

“The school board is undergoing a multi-phase plan to renovate the stadium, including making these structural repairs,” Justin Cumby, owner of J. Cumby Construction, said. “Our team is honored to have been selected for this part of the project, and we look forward to continuing our relationship with the Cumberland County Board of Education and Cumberland County High School.”

Cumby added that this phase of construction will be completed in time for the 2014 football season.
