Incubator currently serves more than 200 entrepreneurs and businesses
CROSSVILLE – Roane State Community College’s Cumberland Business Incubator (CBI) will be hosting an open house event from 1-3 p.m. Wednesday, April 13. The community is invited to network, meet CBI entrepreneurs and business representatives, mentors and volunteers, tour the Maker Space and see samples of the projects completed there.
The CBI currently serves more than 200 entrepreneurs and businesses. Eight of the businesses operate within the CBI.
The CBI Maker Space provides the community with access to tools and technology including 3-D printers, electronics bench, laser engraver, woodworking shop, Computer Aided Design computers and software, vinyl cutter and heat press, fabric arts and embroidery machine and a general assembly area. For a monthly membership fee and completion of safety and basic use classes on specific equipment, members share the use of the tools during open hours. Volunteers are available to help develop ideas and improve technical skills. Specific equipment is available for rent outside of open hours for production work.
During the open house, a one-month Maker Space membership will be available for $20, normally $49. Limit one month per membership.
Registration information will also be available for Make Camp 2016, a youth camp for campers 8-18 to be held the week of July 11.
The Cumberland Business Incubator is located on the Roane State Community College campus at 2569 Cook Road, Crossville. For more information, contact Bonnie Moedano at (931) 456-4910.
