UPPER CUMBERLAND – The following is a list of chamber meetings, business events and workshops around the Upper Cumberland. 

July

July 23 – Crossville – “Grow with Google” webinar on how to “Use YouTube to Grow Your Business” from 1 – 2 p.m. sponsored by the Cumberland Business Incubator. Dave Delaney, Google trainer, will share the best practices for creating a YouTube Channel and compelling video content that promotes your products and services and drives engagement with your brand. In this session, Delaney will discuss the best practice for understanding different video formats, how to set up a YouTube channel, and making good creative. He will also show you how to target your message and measure the results. Register for the free webinar here

July 27 – Online – The Tennessee Department of Revenue will host a webinar covering the 2021 legislative updates. The webinar starting at 9 a.m. covers business and tax impacts of legislative changes. Register for the free event here.

July 28 – Cookeville – The Biz Foundry, Red Silo and the Upper Cumberland Young Lawyers Association present the 4th Annual Packs for Pints from 5 – 7 p.m. This “happy hour” style event helping Upper Cumberland children living in foster care through donations of new school supplies or backpacks to Red Silo. All backpack donations go to Upper Cumberland children in foster care. All donors receive a free drink on the house for each backpack you donate (21+ to consume alcohol).

July 29 – Livingston – The Livingston-Overton County Chamber will hold its semi-annual chamber membership luncheon at 12 p.m. at the Iron & Oak Event Center. Event is $25 per person and registration is requested by July 27. RSVP here.

July 30 – Cookeville – The Biz Foundry hosts “Are You Playing It Safe? Getting Your Business Properly Insured.” Matt Swallows will help you uncover your insurance blindspots and figure out how to properly insure your business during the upcoming Business Resource Community Call from 1 – 2 p.m. The event is free, but registration is required. Aug. 3 – Cookeville – The Cookeville-Putnam County Chamber presents Business Before Hours from 7-8:30 a.m. featuring TTU Football and honoring milestone memberships. 

Aug. 3 – Online – The Tennessee Advanced Energy Business Council will host an online Statewide Energy Incentives and Programs Webinar beginning from 9 – 11 a.m. This webinar will include a conversation with key stakeholders about energy programs, incentives and policies facing business leaders and entrepreneurs across the state. There will also be time for attendee Q&A to help gain additional information needed to navigate state and federal government processes. Register here.

Aug. 12 – Cookeville – The Biz Foundry invites women to join a community of entrepreneurial women who seek to inspire others at the Powered By Her! Lunch & Learn from 12 – 1 p.m. with lunch provided by First Volunteer Bank. Register here.

Aug. 13 – Cookeville – The Biz Foundry presents “Where are the Workers? Posts-Covid Trends in the U.S. Workforce.” As businesses reopen their doors, owners are struggling to find enough employees to meet their needs. What’s happening with our workers? LEt’s take a closer look at employee stress levels and engagement how it’s impacting the worker shortage. Business Resource Community Call from 10 – 11 a.m. The event is free, but registration is required. Aug. 16 – Cookeville – The Biz Foundry presents Start Up Your Startup: Part 2 of the Premium Workshop Series. This three week course is designed to help aspiring entrepreneurs put ideas into action and turn a passion into a sustainable and thriving small business. You’ll learn from experts in the fields of marketing and sales, legal, accounting, finance & taxes, insurance, and capital/funding. “Test It Before You Invest It” is required before enrolling in this workshop. Class will be Monday and Wednesday evenings from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Register here.

Aug. 17 – Algood – The Cookeville-Putnam County Chamber’s August Community Coffee will be held at Algood City Hall from 8 – 9 a.m. 

Aug. 17 – Cookeville – The Cookeville-Putnam County Chamber will hold its new member luncheon at Wilson Bank.

Aug. 24 – Cookeville – The Cookeville-Putnam County Chamber presents Business After Hours at Red Silo

September 

Sept. 9 – Cookeville – The Cookeville-Putnam County Chamber presents the Fall Business Expo.

Sept. 17 – Cookeville – The Cookeville-Putnam County Chamber will hold its Fall Golf Tournament at Golden Eagle Golf Club.

Sept. 21 – Baxter – The Cookeville-Putnam County Chamber’s September Community Coffee will be held at The Monarch from 8 – 9 a.m.
