Donations are encouraged and directly support the orchestra’s performances

(UCBJ) – The Bryan Symphony Orchestra will host its annual “Beers for Brahms” fundraising event on Wednesday, May 6, from 5 to 8:30 p.m. at Father Tom’s Pub. Guests can enjoy an evening of performances from a diverse lineup of local and regional musicians while supporting the orchestra’s mission to continue bringing live symphonic music to the Upper Cumberland.

Beginning at 5 p.m., attendees will hear from an all-star roster of performers, including:

  • David Klein
  • Raniece
  • Jade Arrow
  • Sugar Lime Blue
  • Zachary Harper
  • Billy T. Scrapper
  • Bryan Symphony Orchestra’s very own Dan Allcott

“Beers for Brahms” serves as the orchestra’s largest annual fundraiser, with organizers aiming to maximize the impact of community support through a $10,000 matching challenge. Contributions made during the event will be matched dollar-for-dollar, with $5,000 provided by an anonymous donor and an additional $5,000 from Dr. Stephen and Mrs. Jeanette Goryl.

In addition to live performances, guests can participate in an online silent auction, which will remain open through the end of the event. Auction items can be viewed here, and bids can be placed in advance or during the evening, offering another way for supporters to contribute.

“This event reflects what the Bryan Symphony Orchestra is all about—bringing people together through music in a way that’s accessible and meaningful for our entire community,” said Dr. Susan Miranda, executive director of the Bryan Symphony Orchestra. “We are proud to be a symphony for all of the Upper Cumberland region, and every donation helps us continue keeping live orchestral music right here at home.”

While there is no formal ticket required, donations are encouraged and directly support the orchestra’s performances, educational outreach and collaborations. Community members who are unable to attend in person can still contribute online and participate in the silent auction.

Now in its 62nd season, the Bryan Symphony Orchestra is a collaboration between the School of Music at Tennessee Tech University and the Bryan Symphony Orchestra Association, a nonprofit organization that raises more than $150,000 annually to support performances featuring faculty, students and professional musicians from across the region. Together, they “aim to enrich the cultural life of Cookeville and the surrounding Upper Cumberland through dynamic concerts and educational programming.”
