CRMC announces new CFO

COOKEVILLE – Cookeville Regional Medical Center has named a new chief financial officer.

Steve Ramey, the former CFO at Southampton Memorial Hospital in Franklin, Va., since 2004, was announced as the newest addition to the hospital’s administrative team on Friday. Ramey comes to Cookeville with more than 25 years of leadership experience in hospitals and health care.

Prior to Southampton Memorial, he served at Harton Regional Medical Center in Tullahoma and Smith County Memorial Hospital in Carthage.

“Steve’s career and experience make him a true asset for the hospital and an integral part of our senior leadership team,” Paul Korth, chief executive officer at CRMC, said. “He has a wealth of experience in hospital financial management, and I look forward to working with him.”

While the hospital has had a number of hiring needs – CRMC has added a number physicians since last year, including a sleep specialist, neurologist and cardiologist – the role of CFO has sat vacant since October 2012, when Korth was elevated to his current position following the termination of Dr. Menachem Langer.

Ramey is a licensed certified public accountant in Tennessee and is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association. Previously he served on the board of directors for Bronco Federal Credit Union and Colonial Virginia Council, Boy Scouts of America.
