COOKEVILLE – Get ready to beat the summer heat at the Summer Splash 5K. The evening race will be on Saturday, June 25, at 6 p.m., near the Dogwood Park pavilion.
The Summer Splash is a family-friendly 5K offering opportunities to cool off along the course at gentle misting stations and optional drenching stations. Run or walk, participants will likely get wet during this race.
The race is held in memory of Sarah Alice Bagci, and participants are encouraged to run or walk in memory or honor of a loved one affected by cancer.
Presented by Eye Centers of Tennessee, on-site registration begins at 5 p.m. on Saturday. Pre-event packet pickup will be Friday evening from 5-6 p.m. at 127 N Oak Ave. Proceeds from the Summer Splash 5K go to the Upper Cumberland Cancer Fund at Cookeville Regional Charitable Foundation. The Cancer Fund helps local cancer patients who struggle with necessities while dealing with a cancer diagnosis.
Early-bird discounted-registration price continues until June 1. Registration fees will go up after that date. There are additional discounts when registering more than one person at one time.
