COOKEVILLE – As part of continuing efforts to show appreciation for its driving force, Averitt Express celebrated Driver Appreciation Week (Sept. 8-14) with numerous events throughout its network.

These included cookouts and breakfasts, giveaways and other events throughout the week. Additionally, every driver had their names entered into daily prize drawings for wireless headsets, gift cards, CB radios, televisions and iPads.

For the grand prize, five lucky over-the-road drivers had their names drawn to be assigned a brand-new 2020 Freightliner truck.

“Driver Appreciation Week is an important tradition for our team, and it’s one of the many ways that we’re able to say, ‘thank you’ for their efforts,” said Gary Sasser, Averitt’s chairman and chief executive officer. “Our driving force is the backbone of everything we do, and every week we’re thankful for their professionalism, commitment to safety, and dedication to delivering outstanding service.”

Averitt Express is a multiple-services provider, with fleets ranging from regional over-the-road and dedicated, to local pick-up and delivery, and more. The high quality of services that Averitt provides, combined with its positive team-oriented culture, have helped it achieve recognition as a Forbes Best Large Employer and numerous Quest for Quality awards.

Also, in honor of Driver Appreciation Week, Averitt produced a special video featuring members of its driving force and recognizing the importance of their work. To watch the video, visit AverittExpress.com/DAW2019.
