COOKEVILLE – Almost one-fifth of Putnam County residents have now received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, and over 11% have completed their vaccine series. A total of 23,374 vaccines have been given to county residents, and with the COVID-19 vaccine eligibility now expanding to include the 1c group, that percentage is expected to rise quickly.

The 1c group includes those 16+ with high-risk health conditions and caregivers of children with high-risk comorbidities. The high-risk conditions include pregnancy, chronic renal disease, COPD, pulmonary fibrosis, moderate-severe asthma, obesity (BMI>30), heart failure, coronary artery disease, sickle cell, thalassemia, stroke, dementia and diabetes, among others. A complete list is available here.

Vaccinations are still available for anyone aged 65 and older without regard to any health conditions.

There are 10 providers now approved to give vaccinations in Cookeville. A list of the providers for Putnam County and other areas across the state with current vaccine availability can be found at this link
