Applications being accepted for 2022 – 2023 Highlands Leaders Program

UPPER CUMBERLAND – Applications are now being accepted for the Highland Leaders Program, an outreach of the Highlands Economic Partnership (HEP), a 4-county partnership between White, Putnam, Overton & Jackson that focuses on economic and community development in our region.

The Highland Leaders program is a one-year program dedicated to the development of your next-generation leader. The group that is selected will gather once per quarter for a full day to study key competencies of senior and executive leadership while also being reflective and introspective. Some topics include Team Empowerment, Change Culture Management, Overcoming Obstacles, Problem Solving, Decision/Influence and Strategic Business Planning.

The 2022-2023 cohort is now being assembled. To keep from being saturated in one industry, only two (2) professionals per industry in each of the four counties will be accepted. Participants will be selected on a first come, first served basis.

In addition to the leadership development and networking aspect of the Highland Leaders program, there will also be an element of community impact. While the first half of the day will be focused on the development of the participants, the second half of the day will be dedicated to the enhancement of our Highlands community. Each county will be randomly assigned a community impact project. These projects include community beautification, veteran support, equal opportunity and child hunger. This community impact project will be the capstone of the Highlands Leaders program and required prior to graduation.

Those wishing to be considered for the August 2022 program should apply here, The cost of the program is $50 per month. All funds that come through the Highland Leaders program will go directly toward its goals of supporting our businesses in the Highlands region to help grow, expand and develop their current teams through continuing education, etc. in an effort to raise the median household income in our area.
