Small Biz Bucks” will help you save this shopping season

Cookeville – This Saturday is Small Business Saturday across the country. After the craziness of Black Friday, the unofficial beginning to retail season where the largest stores hope to get into the “black” with reduced prices, Small business Saturday hopes that shoppers will slow down and invest back into the community by shopping local.

Wednesday, Cookeville City Mayor Laurin Wheaton, along with Putnam County Mayor Randy Porter, signed a joint proclamation to officially recognize Sat. Nov. 26 as Small business Saturday in Putnam County.

CityScape in Cookeville and the Chamber of Commerce are working together to promote “small biz bucks”. “Small biz bucks” can be picked up at Wilson Bank and Trust and used for a $10 discount at local businesses.

“It is an honor to be a part of supporting our local economy and we hope everyone goes out and shops small this Saturday,” said Wheaton.

“Bucks” will then be used for donations to CityScape. For more information call 931-528-4612 or visit HERE
