UC Women’s Club to hold February luncheon

UPPER CUMBERLAND – The Upper Cumberland Women’s Club will hold their first meeting of 2020 on Feb. 11 at Hibachi Super Buffet in Crossville. The meeting will begin at noon (CST).

All professional women in the area are invited to learn more about the Honor Air Flight

Program. The guest speaker will be Gus Gocella.

Gocella served in the USAF from 1956-1976. After serving in the military, he worked in a variety of roles in the oil, gas, pulp, paper and steel industries. Since 2009, he has volunteered with Honor Air-Knoxville taking WW II, Korean and Vietnam Veterans to Washington DC visiting Military and other Memorials at no cost to the Veterans.

Besides traveling on 22 flights so far, he has also participated on Two Honor Air Knoxville Virtual Flights for Veterans who cannot fly. The next flight is April 15, 2020 and is a Women of the Military Flight.  His presentation will include a video from Flight #15, in October 2013, with discussion and questions to follow.

The price for the luncheon will be $15.00 payable at the door. Extra donations for the annual scholarship/benevolent fund are always welcome. To RSVP, email ucwomensclub@gmail.com.

For our next Blessing Project, we will gather items, at the Feb 11 meeting, for Valentines baskets for the mom’s served by The Stephen’s Center. You may prepare a basket yourself, or we can put them together for you.
